This game is fun for the first 10 days

After that it becomes nearly impossible. Doug takes too many hits to drive off, sometimes the clicks aren't read as clicks on him, he ducks so fast that even when there's one barrel, he can duck before you finish your sing. The little fill bar moves so fast that your eye can't follow it after day 15.
It was fun, but there's no way you'll be able to get enough money in time to get all the upgrades and even if you do, doug's health outpaces them every day you progress.

I love these kinds of games, but needs some work

First off, let me say that I love the concept. Also the level of historical detail you put in is really great! The complexity of the game isn't so great that it gets confusing, but is still engaging enough to present a challenge. Maybe you could add a multiplayer mode next?
The problem comes from the system of blocking cards. If the color of cards are matched up on each side, there is often nothing you can do. The opponent (or you) can block each move as it is played, no matter what order. This is of course if you happen to have the right combination. I'm just saying its frustrating when it happens. Not necessarily a game breaking problem, but one which warrants further examination. Maybe you could try to implement a system of hitpoints, such as in the Magic card game, where an attack can be partially blocked. It's just a thought. This would only apply to the scoring cards obviously.
Presentation: The graphics for the cards were nice, being photographs in most cases. Try getting a picture for the 88mm flak gun too, because the little pixel picture doesn't look as good. If you made the whole thing a LITTLE bigger in general, the info on the left hand side of the screen would be easier to read. Also, maybe change the graphic for the Block action, as it looks somewhat boring. Maybe put the word in front of an explosion or something?
Lastly, sound. Maybe a simple looping track to liven things up? Also, some sound effects for attacking and blocking etc. Intelligence cards can sound like a radio, air force cards sound like planes, ship cards sound like naval guns, ground cards sound like tanks, whatever you want to do. I think it would make the game much more exciting.
I hope to see a sequel! Maybe on the Italian front, or the Pacific! I feel you have a solid game here, it just needs a little examination of the mechanics and a few frills in the form of sounds and you'll be good to go!

Looks good, sounds good, mechanics need work

Your artwork is good, and the music is good, if a bit repetitive. The problem is mechanics. If you wait to open your chute, its nearly impossible to see obstacles and prizes before they come. Also, the tricks aren't worth nearly enough to make doing them worth it. To get a good score, you have to open your chute early. This however makes the game incredibly slow as you drift back and forth. It makes it easy to collect prizes, but you can't alter the rate of your descent anymore so it becomes hard to dodge obstacles.
In the end you have to choose between a long, boring float down or a quick uncontrollable descent. Work on the pacing and balance between the two and I think it'll work.

Hard Difficulty should be renamed Impossible

Resources become this games achilles heel. You never have enough of them on hard difficulty, and the computer constantly kills your resource generators. I really enjoyed this game on easy and medium, but on hard difficulty I was able to win the first battle and nothing else.
I would go several rounds at a time without being able to do anything but discard. After a while this was so frustrating that I just gave up. So my advice for number 3 is reduce the enemies economic advantage on the hard setting.

Fun but it feels like a slip and slide!

I like it for the most part, but the slipperyness of the blocks made me die a million more times then the enemies or the puzzle itself. It was Incredibly annoying.
Also, although the idea of clones is cool, most of the time they just get in the way.

Some Serious issues

The system of waiting inside your base every night and foraging by day could have been an awesome one. The Last Stand did it pretty well, but here, defending your base is nothing more then sitting inside watching a largely useless turret try to pick off enemies. Or you can go outside to help, but the bugs push you around, so if you need to get back inside you're screwed.
All of the early guns are useless and your best option is to run away, which is not very useful either because your character moves like he must weigh 500 pounds.
A nice addition would be the ability to shoot out of your base at night. Or control the turret yourself. It never targets the kamikaze bugs until they are right up against the wall, and ignores the ranged attack bugs in favor of shooting the little spiders. Lame.

Probably my favorite TD ever

I found one problem however, and I know this has been pointed out before but I'd just like to throw it out there again: Sometimes the return jewel power doesn't actually return the gem. The animation plays and it LOOKS like your gem is back, but then the next wave of baddies just picks it up from where it used to be and makes off with it. This happened while playing the last level, twice in a row if that helps solve it!
Again, I really love this game and the reason I point this out is so you can perfect it! I really love the different abilities the towers have and the skill tree is great. Some of the enemies are a bit difficult, such as the ninjas and assassins, but if you stop to think about it for a little bit the solution presents itself. I know, thinking in a tower defense game!? Blasphemy.

1 hit wonder

If you miss a single hit, the string of 4 hits which follow it take you out. This makes it almost impossible to come back from a single mistake. This is further complicated by the fact that the enemies are nearly layered ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER. The animation of one attack takes too long to complete for you to complete the next attack.
Also, it is nearly impossible to tell when exactly you are supposed to press the button, press it to soon and you fail, get hit, and then take it in the face from the next five enemies.
Solid art, and music. Terrible gameplay.

It's Okay, needs to be finished.

Specifically, add sound. Maybe some sound effects and at least a background song.
Controls were smooth, and the graphics were pretty good. Incorporate some extra courses and possibly some computer opponents and you'd have a full game ready to go.

One quick correction

Roy Campbell was Naomi's uncle, not her dad.

Other then that, decent quiz. Could use some work on the graphics, to make it a little more exciting

MaestroCC responds:

I understand about the graphics, but it is quite difficult, knowing what to do like.
And campbells MERYLS father not Naomis.

I write stuff. Browse through my news and forum posts and you'll see. You'll ALL see.
